On October 13th, Pengpai News learned that the Yanshan Petrochemical 110 kV cable insulation material hanging demonstration project under Sinopec has recently been launched, and for the first time, high-grade cable insulation materials independently developed and produced have been applied. This move marks the first industrial demonstration application of domestically produced high-grade insulation new materials, which will accelerate the localization process of high-grade cable insulation materials in China and improve the long-term dependence on imports.

Cable insulation material is known as the "protective film" of wires and cables, which is the nerve and bloodline of the national economy. It is an insulation material wrapped around the periphery of wires and cables, mainly including rubber, plastic, etc. Common cable insulation materials can be used for medium and low voltage cables with voltage levels of 35 kV and below, while high-grade cable insulation materials can be used for high voltage, ultra-high voltage, and ultra-high voltage cables with voltage levels of 110 kV and above, suitable for deep sea, aviation and other fields. For a long time, China's high-grade cable insulation materials have mainly relied on imports.
